They have a very caring attitude towards the residents . When I first arrived, I noticed a cacophony of alert bells chiming for the whole of my visit. It regularly would take well over 15 min for anyone to react to a patient call. My father has reported up to an hour response time. This was not limited to the hallway where I had a personal stake . I had asked "what happens when someone is having an emergency?" to which I got no response.
The rooms were in very good size, but it was set up like the older style. The kitchen was totally blocked off from the rest of the place. The washer and dryer were down the hallway.

His room was not good either; it was always dirty. The dining area was just a big open room, and they didn't even have TVs in the rooms. The hallways were maintained, but the rooms weren't. It took a long time for the nurses to react to you when they pulled the bell. Half the time the bell was not even near the patient, and sometimes it was put away in a drawer. Every time I went there my boyfriend was lying in bed.

We like the porch areas that my father now has. They have a more extensive activities calendar. They have concerts, buses to the nearby stores, bingo. On their newsletter, they have celebrations for birthdays of staff and the residents.
The facility would not provide transportation which made it very complicated. In addition, my mother has significant other health issues and is on a great deal of medication. The staff didn't seem to listen to her whenever my Mother tried to explain why she was on various medications and what the reasoning was for her dosages. The last problem was that when she was released on a Friday, she was sent home with a prescription for a painkiller that was impossible to find at any local pharmacy. My Mom was at Manor Care/PC a couple of years ago.

My grandmother went to rehab at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation for a week. They took care of her very well and they communicated very well with me the entire time. Each person that engaged with her like the activities specialist, the social worker, and the nurses, all communicated very well with me and kept me updated. It helped a lot because I didn't have to reach out to them and find out information. That was very helpful and they were very thorough with everything so we had a really good experience.
Everything there seemed very pleasant. However, once I've heard the details of respite care and if I qualify, I didn't get into any real details about the whole facility. The place was very clean and everything seemed nice. The one staff that I met was very friendly. I didn't see any activities though. I thought Forwood Manor was wonderful.
Afterwards I went to someone else facility where I relived excellent wound care. From the moment we meet a resident, our goal is to learn as much as we can. By caring enough to listen to seniors and their families, we can create a fulfilling lifestyle where all involved can be at ease and comfortable. Our personal touch is seen in everything we do, from our life-enriching activities to our home-cooked meals. I was at Forwood Manor for lunch, the food was excellent, and the cafeteria and the staff was excellent as well.
The people all seemed very happy, and the staff was very friendly. My mother-in-law did not like Manorcare Health Services - Pike Creek at all because she is very active and this facility is more for people who really need a lot of attention. The people there were not very helpful. I did not like them at all because they would not tell me information I needed to know. The staff need to be more polite and customer oriented. I met two staff members and they were very nice and open.
They have bingo, poker, and bridge. They also have a gardening group and a craft group. I would recommend this place, and one of the main reasons was that it is within one and a half hours of our daughter.
